About Dayara Bugyal Trek:

Dayara Bugyal Trek is a breathtaking trekking experience nestled in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India. Known for its lush green meadows and panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks, this trek is a nature lover’s paradise. The journey begins from the quaint village of Barsu, leading trekkers through dense oak forests and charming alpine meadows.

As you ascend, the landscape transforms, revealing stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks like Bandarpoonch and Draupadi Ka Danda. The highlight of the trek is reaching Dayara Bugyal, a vast expanse of grassland at an elevation of around 12,100 feet, offering a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains.

Itinerary

  • Start your journey early from Rishikesh to Natin Village Village (Approx. 200 km, 7-8 hours by road).
  • Reach Natin Village and acclimatize to the altitude.
  • Overnight stay in Natin Village.
  • Begin the trek from Natin Village to Gui (Approx. 3.5 km trek).
  • Explore Deorital Lake and enjoy the scenic beauty.
  • Camp overnight near Deorital Lake.
  • Trek back to Sari Village from Deorital.
  • Drive to Chopta (Approx. 30 km, 1-2 hours by road).
  • Reach Chopta and set up your camp.
  • Relax and prepare for the next day’s trek.
  • Overnight stay in Chopta.
  • Start early and trek from Chopta to Tungnath Temple (Approx. 3.5 km trek).
  • Visit Tungnath, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world.
  • Continue the trek to Chandrashila Peak (Approx. 1.5 km trek from Tungnath).
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas from Chandrashila.
  • Descend back to Chopta.
  • Overnight stay in Chopta.
  • After breakfast, drive back to Rishikesh (Approx. 180 km, 6-7 hours by road).
  • Reach Rishikesh and conclude your trek.

  • Trash Bags: Pack out all your waste; leave no trace behind.
  • Trekking Shoes: Sturdy and comfortable, with a good grip.
  • Socks: Several pairs of moisture-wicking socks to keep your feet dry.

How To Reach

At first you have to reach Rishikesh, after that TGT will take care of your further travel plan.

Options to reach Rishikesh

1. Take overnight train/bus to Rishikesh.

2. Take overnight train/bus to Haridwar and drive to Rishikesh (35 min drive with normal traffic).

We always recommend to go for the govt. Buses over the private ones outside the bus station as based on the experience we have found that there are very high chances of delay involved with private buses. Also, govt. Buses are always more reliable. Whichever bus you choose, just make sure to reach Rishikesh at least by 05:30 am positively.

3. Take the flight to Dehradun airport (Jolly Grant Airport) and drive to Rishikesh (20 km, 30 min), if coming by flight then come one day early.

After morning tea move to Rishikesh (breakfast and lunch on the way) Reach Rishikesh by 6:00 pm
